SCALE THE SUMMIT to play Progday 2010

Though boasting an average age of only 22, SCALE THE SUMMIT has already cemented its position as a band pushing heavy progressive and prog metal into new directions. Formed in 2004, this instrumental quartet established its base in Houston, Texas, where it recorded Monuments, its self-released debut. The album garnered international attention with magazines like Kerrang, Rock Sound and Amp heaping praise upon the band.

This growing recognition led to SCALE THE SUMMIT signing with Prosthetic Records in 2008. Its second album, Carving Desert Canyons, was considered to be one of the most anticipated "heavy" releases of 2009 and was lauded for the uniqueness of it's music, the maturity of the writing and the amazing skill of it's execution. Shortly after the album's release, SCALE THE SUMMIT was invited to participate in Dream Theater's annual Progressive Nation summer tour where the band continued to garner new fans on a nightly basis. Often compared to bands like Liquid Tension Experiment, Cynic, Planet X, King Crimson, Spaced Out and Canvas Solaris, ProgDay is very pleased to bring the cutting-edge music of SCALE THE SUMMIT to Storybook Farm.

SCALE THE SUMMIT is joined by Flash, The Muffins, Mars Hollow, Half Past Four, Shadow Circus and Mahogany Frog at ProgDay 2010. ProgDay is the longest running progressive rock festival in the world. The 16th edition will take place on Saturday, September 4, and Sunday, September 5, at Storybook Farm in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
